Country Lodge is situated on the outskirts of the White River in Mpumalanga,
South Africa.
The 1920's homestead is nestled amongst 30 acres of magnificent rolling green lawns and lush subtropical gardens with some of the most impressive river frontage winding its way
through the estate. Accommodation
Furnished
in a mixture of Colonial, Victorian, Provencal, French Country
and African Colonial styles, the lodge has 10 superior rooms
and two luxury suites.
All
our rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers and private
patios. The Victorian rooms have private outdoor showers with
1/2 ton solid concrete baths dominating the Provencal
bathrooms.
Our
Colonial suite has its own stylish lounge while our Honeymoon
suite has a secluded garden with a private plunge pool.

Dining
Our A la
Carte restaurant is open seven days a week and our chef's
culinary delights will satisfy even the most discerning diner.
During fine weather meals are also served on our open-air
patio. For a unique dining experience guests can book our
cellar for small, intimate private launches or dinners.
Our cozy
pub, the Lord Milner, is the ideal stop for pre- and
post-dinner drinks, while sundowners can also be enjoyed on
our veranda or on the elevated deck overlooking the White
River.
Wine
tasting are held regularly at the lodge. Our tasting vary
slightly from the norm in that only one estate is offered for
tasting and is accompanied by dinner, the menu specially
prepared to compliment the wines on offer. The wine master
from the selected estate attends the evening to share his
knowledge and advice with diners.
Our gourmet
picnic hampers can be enjoyed on the banks of the river or
when taking a day trip to the nearby Kruger National Park or
other scenic drives.

Leisure
activities a that lodge are of the more relaxed kind and the
lodge boasts a quiet and sunny pool deck with a sparkling pool
to cool off in.
The
pristine bowling green - which also double as the croquet lawn
- is available for those guests wishing to make use of it.
Scenic
river walks are well sign posted and a treat for nature and
bird lovers to enjoy.
The bird
life at the lodge is abundant and bird books can be found in
every room. Binoculars can be loaned from reception.
For those
looking for a game of skill our billiards room, located just
off the Lord Milner, offers the perfect opportunity.
Attractions in the surrounding areas

The
Kruger National Park and the private reserves of the Sabi
Sands are close by. The nearest entrance gate to the
Kruger is only 28 km from the lodge.

There
are many scenic and historic sites to visit all within
easy driving distance from the lodge e.g. pilgrim's Rest,
God's Window, Blyde River Canyon. Picnic hampers can be
prepared by our chef for you to enjoy on these day trips.

Scenic
helicopter flights and hot air balloon rides over these
scenic areas can be arranged.

The
Barnyard Theatre is located at the nearby Caster bridge
Farm and makes for a fine evening out. One of our chef's
scrumptious picnic hampers can be prepared on request for
you to enjoy at the theatre prior to the show.

A visit
to the nearby African Cultural Village gives guests an
insight into our fascinating African culture and heritage.

There
are several excellent golf courses in the area, the
closest being at White River Country Club. A game
can also be arranged at Skukuza in the Kruger National
Park.

Fly
fishing day expeditions to Lydenburg and Pilgrim's Rest
can be undertaken for those keen on doing some casting of
their own.

pigeon shooting can be arranged with a registered
professional operator for bigger groups.

Functions & Wedding Facilities
Located a
short distance away from the main building, the function room
at Jatinga Country Lodge is ideal for small or larger groups,
comfortably seating 75 delegates when set up in schoolroom
style seating or 90 delegates when set in cinema style
seating.
The room is
air conditioned and has fold-away doors that open out onto a
private garden creating a quite and calm atmosphere that lends
itself to serious business meetings.

Being
located a short distance from the main building our function
room is perfect for private functions and weddings.

can comfortably seat 75 people and accommodate a dance floor.
The room has been designed with fold-away doors on one side
where a marquee can be erected extending the size of the room
for functions with 100 guests or more.
An arched,
open sided chapel is located on the property that can be used
for weddings, christenings and the like.
